Playing Keno and Video Keno is like picking your lottery numbers. There isn't really much you can do to influence or predict the result. It is all down to luck. In Video Keno, always play from 3 to 8 spots, and play the maximum amount of coins allowed

1. When you get to the casino, have a walk around. Know where the keno outlets, monitors, writers (and big board if there is one) are. Stop by the keno booth and pick up the booklet, which they will give you for free. It will answer any questions about specific differences or options available at the casino relating to keno. If you happen to get disoriented it can cost you, as our next tip will demonstrate.

2. Pay attention to your game. If the game ends while you're eyeballing the crowd at the blackjack or craps table, you'll have to make a mad dash for the keno writer! The keno writer is the nice guy or girl who sells you your ticket, and if you don't make it there to cash in a winning ticket before the next game starts (in most Vegas casinos that's five minutes) you don't get to cash it in at all!

3. The computer uses different algorithms to randomly pick numbers. Play your numbers in patterns instead of spreading them out all over.

4. In playing Keno remember the payouts and try to keep your winnings below what you have to pay taxes on. Usually I play 9 numbers for a max payout of 2500 on a quarter bet but I am really trying to get 8 out of 9 for a payout of 1175.

5. Keep your numbers the same regardless of what you pick until you hit large on them. You will always come out ahead at least once. When you are, even if it is only by $1, cash out and do it again!

6. Try playing the top 2 lines. Play 1,2,5,10,11 and 2 others of choice. Vary your choices and you will hit at least 5/7 and probably 7/7 within an hour.
